This is my first Top Ten Tuesday of 2019 – and it starts with the book I didn’t get round to reading in 2018. Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and there’s a list of topics provided there if you’d like to join in…
There were many, many books I was planning to read last year but I didn’t get round to…
- Herodotus The Histories
I feel like this one should sort of count as “read”, as I got half the way through and I am still reading it. But it’s a rather hefty tome, so hey. I still think I did well
2. Henry James What Maisie Knew
I acquired a copy of this one late last year because I wanted to read it immediately! And then I didn’t get round to it.
3. Liane Moriarty Nine Perfect Strangers
So this one was on offer at the local supermarket, and I was convinced that I would read it at once. It didn’t quite work like that
4. Ben Judah This is London
Okay, I thought I would finally have the time to read it last year. But nope.
5. Olga Tokarczuk Bieguni (Flights)
Tokarczuk got awarded the International Man Booker Prize for Flights this year, and so I thought I’d finally get around to reading it.
6. David Olusoga Black and British
I got this one in February 2018, fully intending to read it the same year. Didn’t quite manage it
7. Virginia Woolf Night and Day
I thought to finally get around to reading this one this year…
8. Henry James The Princess Casamassima
I knew this one was a bit ambitious as it’s rather long, and I know the ending…and it turned that was right.
