Today is bookshop day… so, of course, I had to celebrate by visiting a bookshop.

And of course, I bought far too many books than is good for me. They had a 3 for 2 offer – what could I do?

Ironically, after spending far too much on books, I could not afford to buy one of those stylish “Books are my Bag” totes. Maybe next year?

Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeline Thien is the first book that I have bought which I was persuaded to buy through the recommendation of a fellow blogger – thank you @baking_thad 

The Remains of a Day by Kazuo Ishiguro I have read two novels by this year’s Nobel-prize in literature winner, but I still haven’t read his most famous one.  After he won the prize, I figured I have the perfect excuse.

The Pursuit of Power by Richard J Evans I read lots of novels that are set in the 19th century, but I know very little about the history of the period. It’s time to catch up….

Not sure when I will squeeze those into my reading list, as I am far far behind where I wanted to be at this point in the month…
